Expanding our Conceptual Horizons: The Shift from an Old to a New Left in Latin America

  • Eric Zolov Franklin & Marshall College

Resumen

This essay proposes a  reinterpretation ofthe term “New Left” to describe the social movements of the 1960s in Latin America, as a way both to clarify the content and scope of those movements and  simultaneously  to  underscore  the  transnational dimension  of  social and cultural protest during this period.
