Author Biography

Javier Mocarquer, Providence College
Javier Mocarquer is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Providence College. He holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Notre Dame (2015) with a specialization in modern and contemporary Latin American literature and culture, especially from the Southern Cone and Brazil. He also earned an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College (2010), a magíster en Filología Hispánica from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Madrid, Spain, 2009), and a licenciatura en Letras Hispánicas from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2007). His research interests cover the tensions between aesthetics and politics, cultural, gender studies, and critical theory.
