Author Biography

Shawn Van Ausdal, Universidad de los Andes en Bogotá

Shawn Van Ausdal is associate professor of History and Geography at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. He holds doctorate in geography from the University of California, Berkeley and was a visiting fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Society and the Environment at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich. He is currently finishing a manuscript on the history of cattle ranching in northern Colombia. His other interests include environmental history, agrarian and food studies, and development geographies.
