Ty West, University of Notre Dame

Ty West specializes in interdisciplinary approaches to Latin American literature and culture with emphasis on Mexico and the long nineteenth century. His primary research interests include travel literature and the representation of subjects in transit, obstacles to nation-building and alternative nationalisms, nineteenth-century print culture, and intellectual history. He has taught all levels of Spanish language, introductory courses on Hispanic literature, and Spanish textual analysis.
