Sergio Villalobos-Rumniott, University of Arkansas—Fayetteville

http://tools.chass.ncsu.edu/open_journal/public/site/images/sfsotill/villalobos_rdax_150x158_158Sergio Villalobos-Ruminott is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of Arkansas—Fayetteville. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Sergio has studied History, Sociology and philosophy in Chile, and received a diploma in Cultural Criticism under Nelly Richard. Sergio edited El imposible fin de lo político. Conferencias de Ernesto Laclau en Chile, 1997 in 2002, and he translated (along with Marlene Beiza) Subalternidad y representacin by John Beverley, which appeared in 2004. He is currently finishing the tranlation of William Spanos's El fin de la educación: la ocación del posthumanismo, and a translation of Gareth Williamss The Other Side of the Popular will appear in 2007 in Chile. Sergios major fields of interest are culture and literature in Latin America in the XIX and XX centuries; iterary and critical theory; Cinema and Visual Arts, and playing soccer.
