Marc Becker es profesor titular de historia latinoamericana en la Universidad Estatal Truman. Su investigación se enfoca en las construcciones de raza, clase social, y género en los movimientos sociales en la zona andina. Es el autor de Pachakutik: Indigenous movements and electoral politics in Ecuador (Editorial Rowman & Littlefield, 2011) e Indians and Leftists in the Making of Ecuador’s Modern Indigenous Movements (Editorial de la Universidad de Duke, 2008); coeditor (con Kim Clark) de Highland Indians and the State in Modern Ecuador (Editorial de la Universidad de Pittsburgh, 2007); and editor y traductor (con Harry Vanden) de José Carlos Mariátegui: An Anthology (Editorial Monthly Review, 2011).
