Greg Grandin es profesor titular de historia en New York University. Entre sus muchas publicaciones se encuentran The Blood of Guatemala: A History of Race and Nation (Duke University Press, 2000), que ganó el premio Bryce Wood de la Latin American Studies Association, The Last Colonial Massacre: Latin America in the Cold War (University of Chicago Press,  2004) y Empire’s Workshop: Latin America, the United States, and the Rise of the New Imperialism (publicado con Metropolitan Books, 2006).
