William E. Skuban es profesor asociado en el Departamento de Historia de California State University en Fresno. Es autor del libro Lines in the Sand: Nationalism and Identity on the Peruvian-Chilean Frontier (University of New Mexico Press, 2007) y actualmente trabaja en una investigación sobre la evolución del nacionalismo y la formación del estado-nacion en Chile durante el “largo” siglo diecinueve (1808 –1932).
