Stephen Allen, California State University--Bakersfield

Stephen Allen received his PhD in Latin American History from Rutgers University in May 2013.  Hes is working on a manuscript (under contract with University of New Mexico Press) that uses the sport of boxing as a window into undertanding the instabilities surrounding Mexican notions of nationalism, modernity, and masculinity during the period between World War II and the Debt Crisis of 1982.
